Every single employee I met there was at least cheerful and made an attempt to be helpful. My wife was in Manorcare at one time because she had broken her leg; she was there for therapy. The hospital recommended this to us. She was mostly there for therapy, but their care was passable. Their rooms were all right and roomy enough.
While many of the therapists, nurses and even a few of the CNAs were excellent, the systems and administration of the facility set everyone up for failure. I know that many would blame the handful of under-performers, stressed-out family and under-functioning individuals with frequent care needs for the stressful environment. Though a few of the staff are (much-appreciated) beacons of brightness and resilience, overall, the misery is apparent.

The therapy team was excellent and getting therapy 6 days a week was very helpful in my recovery. Rose was wonderful - she went above and beyond her PT requirements. When I was ready to give up, she stayed with me and talked to me until I calmed down. She is so kind and caring (& very good at PT, too)!! The Manor Care staff was wonderful.
I cannot say enough positive things about Manor Care! I would choose to go there in a heartbeat if I needed that kind of care. The general entranceway is a little larger and more inviting.

There was no staff to greet me though. There was somebody behind the counter, and I asked where my friend was, but there was nobody other than that. There was no person wandering around looking for newcomers or anything of that sort.

When we would go visit her she always had someone in her room saying hello. She was very bubbly and a true woman. All of the employees and residents loved her. Sadly, she died about two years after being admitted to Forwood, however I never thought it was a bad place.
My mom was admitted to this facility from the hospital for rehab. She was weak and needed OT, PT, and nursing care. One meeting right after she got there and then no more communication from them. Their Covid 19 communications were right on time and kept you informed, unfortunately that does not cross over to the patient care or the staff. Her PT person didn't know she was being discharged that day, She thought she had another week to work with her.
Their food was not as good as the other facility. They're large in terms of size, but I like the other facility more than this one. My daughter and I like ManorCare, but I don’t know if my wife will like it. The meals were good, and the facility, rooms, and cleanliness were great.
The people who run that have indicated that if you need nursing care, you should go to Manorcare.
